DELAWARE COBRAS WIN 5TH AT 2010 NSA WORLD SERIES IN ROCK HILL, SC

The  Cobras traveled to Rock Hill, SC for the 2010 NSA World Series last week.  Beginning on Monday the Cobras came out strong winning both of the pool play games.  Wednesday entering into bracket play while enduring heat delays and thunderstorms the Cobras lost  a game and entered into the loosers bracket.  Thursday the Cobras showed up and won the first 2 games of the day. During the 3rd game of the day and going into the 7th inning with two outs, our girls  rallied and came from behind to win again.  Game 4 wasnt looking good with 3 runs down, but once again in the 7th inning with 2 outs and Lexi  and Cambria on base, Jordan blasted the ball to right feild, followed by Michele, Kenya and Lauren our Cobra girls showed what big hearts they had and came from behind to win once again. Unfortunately, the 5th game of the day against Matoon Pride (in their 2nd game of the day) the Cobra girls gave all they had, but it just wasnt enough.  Our team  took home 5th place.  Special thanks to our aquatic engineer, Jay, for keeping the girls hydrated in the excessive heat. Thank you to coaches Joe, Rick and Michele for keeping the girls motivated  and for all you do during the season. Last, but not least, thank you to all the Cobra families , without whom this great season wouldnt be complete !!!!    DELAWARE COBRAS ROCK  !!!!

DELAWARE COBRAS PLACE 2ND AT NJ SHARKS COLLEGE WARM UP

The girls battled, and we mean battled through 7 games and an international tie breaker to finish 2nd at the New Jersey Sharks College Warm-up tournament this weekend.   With unbelievable pitching, defense and hits the Cobra girls dominated only allowing five runs in total!  Going 0-0 in to the tie breaker, the girls finally allowed a hit to score two runs to end the game.   Congratulations to an all around team effort and a wonderful weekend of Cobra softball.

Delaware Cobra’s at NSA Nationals!

The Cobra family headed to Columbus, Ohio for the NSA Nationals!  With terrific team effort, the girls played very well defense with quick double plays, great outfielding and an awesome infield.  Our offense continues with slaps, bunts, timely hitting and homeruns!!  Only to lose our last two games sending us home a little earlier than expected. However, our girls (and parents) had the best time and enjoyed the week  together as Cobra’s and as the best of friends!!!

Special thanks to Carolyn! Thanks for helping out!

Thanks to our manager and coaches, you’re the BEST!!!
